I was a British , UK and European cheerleading champion for 6 years.
I travelled all over the world competing , judging and meeting new people.
I trained so hard and had a great time while dong it .
It kept me focused during my GCSE`S and off the street during my teens and the discipline has been a lesson for life .
I don`t know to this day a better feeling than performing a 3 minute routine that i had spend 10 months perfecting.
It sounds crazy!
When i had told people what my profession was they would joke like do you Ra Ra with your pom poms?
and it used to make me so cross as my whole life was dedicated to the sport of Cheerleading.
It very popular in America an is growing in popularity in the UK.

I would really like to know what peoples knowledge and perception is of Cherrleading is ?

Feedback would be most welcome,

Becky,

I was a cheerleader in high school and know first-hand the commitment and hard work that can go into it.  My cheer squad was fourth at USA nationals.  It was a very tough and disciplined sport.  I never thought of it as an exclusively American sport but I can see that other countries don`t seem to have the same culture of cheerleading.  I`m glad to know that`s changing and I`m impressed you`ve been able to make a career of it.
