Here are some great sites to see where you stand next to the competition.

Compete You can compare your numbers to other sites and see how well you are doing in terms of visitors to your site.

Google Analytics  This is a wonderful way to see who is visiting, from which country, what are they looking at, and what are they searching for.  Wonderful for SEO optimization.

Quantcast  See where you stack up against the competition in real numbers.

Any other places people can go??

Actually, any good analytic software can help you with SEO. Carefully analyzing where your visitors come from, and where they travel on your site can better help you better optimize your website and its content towards those keyword phrases that are drawing the most traffic and attracting the most interest on your site.

I personally don`t like Google Analytics. I use OneStat. http://OneStat.com It`s expensive, but the analytics are amazing and it`s a lot of fun to play with.

Here are some of the ways Google Analytics can help you with SEO. (It`s an internal StatupNation link.)

I don`t see the benefit of OneStat over Google Analytics, especially considering the cost difference.

I also wonder about their "testimonial" from Cornell University, which they don`t actually link to or print. cornell.edu uses Google Analytics, and OneStat is using the logo in a manner that is against CU policy (says someone who was the former webmaster for the college of engineering when I went to school at Cornell).

The OneStat site itself looks terribly outdated.

And "real time reporting" for analytics ... who cares? I remember some analytics company calling me and trying to sell me on their package based on that function. Who sits and watches their analytics all day? The web doesn`t work that way anyway ... real time is not useful in measuring the success of a campaign.

That was my thought too.  OneStat does what you can do for  yourself with Google (very end-user friendly).

Who cares about real-time reporting? I do, and that`s all that really matters. You don`t like OneStat...who cares?
