HA```

Got your attention. Anyways I got this client that called about her cheating husband. Bottom line, she couldn`t afford it.  A few days later her husband called to inquire about his cheating wife.  What to do..... I told him I would call him back.. any sugestions......Note: I thought I would play this one for fun...but its true...

Think about it they both share one bank account, have their savings and only he is willing to spend it.. I charge $75 dollars an hour and $1,500.00 retainer.  HeLp////

Wow James...that`s a tough one! I don`t know - I guess there is no real reason not to work for the husband other than the fact that you feel badly for their situation (financially and otherwise).

In your line of work, I`m guessing that you can`t make decisions based on emotions. But she could have just been telling you they don`t have the money, hoping that you would sympathize and reduce your rates. But there is no way to know.

It`s business. In my opinion you should act as if you never spoke with the wife. I can`t believe I am saying that...I sound cold and heartless!

What if one suspects the other, or, knows that the other came to you??  Is one covering their own hind end?  Or a simple case of lack of communication at home?  Who knows.  Business is business and it`s not the grocery stores job to decide who should or shouldn`t buy liquor or cigarettes...just that their of age and have money.

It doesn`t sound very ethical to tell you investigate both, but you might find out more about each situation and really help the couple out.  I`m sure they`d pay the money to find out everything is okay on both ends.

As an entrepreneur your reputation, regardless of your line of business is invaluable to your long-term success.  I would say "no thank you".  Character is what separates the really great business leaders and the ones who are just making money.

-did I sound like the mom?

Kindra may be right - walking away from this one could be the best advice yet. I would think it would be a major conflict of interest to take both cases, and it also may come back to bite you somehow if you only take the husband`s side.

Kindra -what a great business you have! A friend of mine coached her cheerleading team (Freehold Pee Wees in NJ) all the way to win the Nationals in Florida last year. She was thrilled. Good luck with it - it`s great to be involved with kids. I hope to be able to donate items and work with local schools once I get my product line going. ;0)
