Cookie Monster: I take back every ugly thing I`ve ever typed about you in our brief exchanges. You rock! You also sunk his battleship, I believe.

Here`s my favorite vanilla, MLM, nonsensical quote thusfar:

` Wealthy people choose to get paid based on RESULTS. Poor people choose to get paid based on TIME. `

Yes, most attorneys I know who bill by  the hour are poor people. Huh?

They also get huge results for their clients because - ready for this- they have an education! From professors in law school! Wow! Is that possible???

New MBA definition for above: Major Blowhard A%^*#$%. I`ll let you figure out the last word. Hint: it isn`t attorney. Maybe he has a van down by the river; I`m not sure.

This drivel really gets old on SuN. Somebody discovers our site, thinks `wow, lots of entrepreneurs, I`m sure they`ll buy my stuff`, writes two posts, calls themself an `expert` or `world-class`, types a bunch of gross generalizations, and hopes we all click on their massive embedded web links.

We do, then laugh, then dismiss them entirely.

Attention people who want to reach this market:

You have to build credibility here, become a member of the community, contribute something with substance. Then, maybe we`ll become associates on some level, maybe we won`t. The goal here for most of us is entrepreneurial community and learning from each other.

If your intent from Day One is marketing to us, we`ll simply tune you out.

Thanks for the kind words. I agree very much with your comments, especially about education. Education is the only way to assemble real economic security for the long term. Yes, lawyers sure are a poor bunch, aren`t they? All that hourly billing, if they wanted to earn real money, they`d ... well when they want to earn more than their six figure starting salary, they slave away until they make partner.

I also tire of people who discover the SUN community and see dollar signs. Move along I say, or contribute something of value. But there are a lot of predators who sign up for the reasons you describe.

Anyone who comes onto this forum and decides as Darren has, that denigrating education is a good advice, is going to get a few slaps right back. It`s SO funny that people like Darren clearly would benefit from education most of all.

Cookie Monster: Amen.

And please accept my condolences for your dog. I wrote that to you back awhile, but you may not have seen it. I lost my cat of 13 years last year to kidney failure and it took me months to deal.

Thanks very much for your condolences and accept mine in return. Twas a hard thing, her passing. But she was a very lucky dog, had a lot of health issues as a puppy including previous cancer at age two, not to mention a very nearly fatal run in with canine distemper when she was 3 months old. She was incredibly lucky to have survived the first occurence of cancer and live 8 1/2 more years, as her chances of surviving the first cancer were basically zero. I heard something a few weeks ago that really helped, although I still miss her and suspect I always will. There is a human tendency to remember how something ends. I found myself thinking a lot about the end of her life. But her life wasn`t about the end. The end of her life was just the period that came after all the words. Indy got to travel a fair amount, she had a fun life, and she got what was most important to her: after I adopted her from the pound, she was never abandoned again. She had a home for life, and I really bent backwards trying to be a good owner, coming home a lot, and not being absent all the time. Turns out all the things I missed as part of being a dog owner ... being out and about or free to come and go ... I didn`t miss them at all.
