I will be launching a new site soon and need to find a good and low cost web hosting company that can support a dedicated server.

Any recommendations good and bad would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Hey Andrew,
Please Contact Edgar with Nuevolution. He is a member here on Sun and he also hosts  and help design my site.
If you would like to see it, you can find it at http://www.rdbelectronics.net.
He is really good and I would recommend him whole-heartedly.

1and1.com . Their customer service people are nasty but their method of extending perfect support for your project is SUPERB. I think a cheap but effective approach to hosting warrants a much deserved look at what they cheaply offer for the money. They are the bomb, if you can get past their upity ways of saying "Hey, what you want? Okay, but don`t say we didn`t warn you that we`re mainly here to give you a great deal.............based on our willingness to deal from your forever-buy in hosting. Oh, I don`t know. They are great if you can just beat their asses off with insisting that they perform. Good luck.

I`m using TonerDesign, because Pat`s an artist, graphic designer, technology wiz, and holds direct customer support as a high value. Plus she`s been around since PCs pretty much started, hosting bulletin boards all the way back at the time. Her expertise is global, and didn`t just start with Windows.

I have used 1and1 succesfully for several projects and find their service, feature set, and price to be an incredible value. Also their network speed is consistently the fastest. But they don`t offer dedicated servers at this time. All sold out!

Thanks

Thanks for the promo, Craig L, but dedicated servers are something a little different from the usual kind of hosting I do, not that it couldn`t be done, but the company I use is also sold out so it`s a moot point anyway. Seems like a lot of people are wanting their own servers these days....
