Where has Startup Nation been all my life, well for the past year and a half since I began dreaming of a new professional football league.

I have always been a community person, my ideas, inventions, dreams, in my mind at least were always enhanced by the addition of people interested in the fruition of such things.

I know I will get comments from business/law professionals advising against the sharing of such information openly on the web and for the most part I will take that advice. Clap

But I would like to make meaningful contact with the people who can really take this concept to another level; all while leveraging the power of discretion to accomplish this great feat!!!

The most conventional aspect of this venture will be the necessity of having high quality talent onboard, the best method at this point in time is to bring in other owners willing to invest time and talents toward success. Rather than debt financing, and the other forms of raising capital.

To lay a solid foundation, we will need a team of professionals interested in a work for equity exchange. I am aware that this means these individuals will own a part of the company and its profit as well as having a say in daily operations. Fine,Fine,Fine!!!  Whats good for growth will be good for most!!!

What type of talent do we need?

Law professionals: You`re needed to draft an agreement for each partner joining this venture covering issues such as non compete, first refusal, and since you would be a part owner anything that protects your investment. More details once you`re onboard.

Web Programmers/Designers: This is a pivotal role within our organization details will be available once there is a solid commitment.

Marketing Experts: Help us to develop a strong brand and communicate our brand effectively to the world and target markets. Assist in aligning our company for sponsorship deals etc.

I look forward to the responses and interests and I hope to see the chosen few at the top.

Respectfully,

Chad Horton

There are people out there trying this concept already.  Remember the failed XFL?  Also I recently heard a story that involved such people as Mark Cuban feeling out the waters for a new proffessional football league.

To Nhgnikole: That`s a yes in favor of real football, fan ownership will give it a fantasy twist. Thats why I need Web Developers so desparately.

I know it sounds weird with me saying "This is a pivotal role within our organization details will be available once there is a solid commitment."

But that`s just it, the secret is the niche and it would be hard to release the details of how it all works and ties together without solid commitments from key players!!!

As far as others trying this out: The UFL is not focused on 100% fan ownership as a matter of fact they project that the fans from each city will supply 2/3 of all startup funds and fans will end up owning only a third. How`s that for fan oriented?... Oh and that 2/3 they are projecting equals 60Million dollars, even if they divided that by 60,000 fans that would mean each fan would have to spend a $grand$ to own a piece of the team. It gets worse... how would you like to pay $1,000 in an investment portfolio and get no dividends for at least five years.

Concerning the: XFL they tried to mesh the orchestrated paradigm of wrestling into the sound  fundamentals and execution of football. Not to mention McMahon came out as he would in a skit on Raw and tried to start the apocalypse early, calling the NFL grandpas` football yada yada. Join Us it will be fun, we`ll show those old timers.

I believe that we have to go forward with this venture regardless of past failures, skeptics, skeptic historians, success or the possibility thereof should lead us forward, failure stands still in the past where it occured.

Thanks to everyone for their responses and propelling the league forward.

Respectfully,

trademark licensing is always a concern for this type of venture.

James,

Does this protect the league from "brand" identity theft, or is it only necessary in building a strong recognizable brand?

Thanks for your comments, keep them coming!!!

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how the team can work together to nurture this venture?
