I just created a website over the last week and I know there are tons and tons of things I might of not done properly but I do not want to be biased.  I would like someone to critique my site (it is ok to be harsh) and let me know what you think could be improved,is something not explained properly, is it easy to understand, what else is it lacking etc.

The website is http://www.insideyourweight.com .  The goal of my site is to provide readers with reviews about various weight loss products while being compensated for it.  I would like to build an audience though and possibly offer an incentive, just not sure how to implement that thus far. Any suggestions?  Thanks alot in advance.

First off, I appreciate the hard work that you put into your site. What platform are you using?

Ok, you need to double check your spelling and grammar. In some cases, you spelled a work correctly, but used it in the wrong instance. (your interest was picqued, not peeked.).  In other cases, you should be putting a thought in quotes, so i'ts obvious to the reader that you are quoting your own thought. ( We were thinking, "Yeah, right...they all say that!")

So you need to proof-read your reviews better.

Second, I believe/agree that blogs and reviews should sound like they are written by a person and not a pitchman..but at the same token you need to sound professional. As you build your core audience, you want to be considered the Expert in what you are discussing. Your site has a down-home, almost amateur feel to it. I am concerned that serious dieters will take your advice lightly.

Your 'About Us' section should speak to your credentials. I mean, just who are you to critique diet plans anyway? I dont mean this with any disrespect..I mean, you should be proud of your experience and brag about it.

Lastly, I am not clear on how you plan to earn money with the site. I don't see banner ads. Are you an affiliate for each of these items your are reviewing? (I would guess not, else you would run athe risk of conflict of interest.)

I hope this fedback is helpful. Let me know how else I can help, and PM me if you are not comfortable continuing the conversation here...

Hello SoHumble,

How are you? well I'm assuming you're not a web designer so I will go very lightly on you... If you were a web designer, then I would probably be more harsh...

Well, there is lots of room for thought and well design and development. Im assuming you're using a blog platform or something generic that you simply upload your images copy and paste your content and you're ready...

The problem with these systems is that they don't allow any room for modification or tweaking of the template... If you are planning to profit from this? I would advise you to get a professional web designer to get you up to date... you might spend a few bucks now, but down the road it might pay off... There is really not much to critique since it's a simple web site...

This is awesome information.  You gave me ALOT to think about and change.  I will PM you when I make a few changes.  I do not have banner ads as of yet since I have not started promoting the site or anything.  I just published it so I can get people who critique it to see it.  The "About us" section is still in construction.  I will be writing much more detailed information with a few of my keywords.  Thanks ALOT , really I love the information you have provided.

A simple word of advice, remove the endless list of keywords from your title tag. Consider that the major search engines will only display about 65 of the 4541 characters you have in your title tag.

If your site were to come up in a search, the main link that a user would click on would read:

Weight Loss Reviews Fat Binder fat binder fat binders fat binder ...

beacuase it would simply be cut off after 65 characters of text.

With a search snippet like this, it is highly unlikely that a user would click that link.

You definitely need some help from a pro developer, PM me if you'd like more info.
