Just looking for some good books are on the subject of starting a small business, in terms of the steps needed to start a company from the ground up.  Any input is greatly appreciated, thanks.

A high recommendation for StartupNation: Open for business.  I also recommend E-Myth Revisited by Michael Gerber.  Seth Godin has some great marketing books out that are quick reads.  My favorite is The Purple Cow.

Good Luck!!

I can`t recommend a great book, but I can recommend a great site that has great books. It`s a lot like going to school. You take classes and tests and everything, but you get to pick out what courses you want to do.Courses range from a half hour to a month long.  Plus it`s not going to break the bank.

Opie;

I am not sure what part of the country you are in but I found the SBA  (small business administration) to be a very useful starting place. They can help you come up with a business plan, which is the best place to start also it`s free. http://www.sba.gov/

Although E-Myth Revisited by Michael Gerber is not the book you describe I highly recommend reading it before starting any books on starting a business. The Nolo Small Business Startup Kit is a great book to get you going on the steps to starting your business.

Go directly to the Emyth revisited.  Then a Rich Dad book to really "get"  the difference between being self-employed and being in business.  Followed by the One Page Business Plan book. Purchase any Guerilla Marketing book for ideas.

Usually I will find out what book famous people has read, what are their favorite books, hope that any book which bring influence on them, will bring good influence on me too.. also, as famous n successful people combined with their experience, I`m sure they have better taste on their choice too.

That is definitely a great list.

A book that I haven`t seen mentioned is Guy Kawasaki`s new book Reality Check. That is a great book filled with bitesize information that is easy to understand and follow.

Here is the entrepreneruship list from the 100 best business books
