I have a few gigs set up and I am planning to release a new CD in a few months.  I would like to sell the CD at the shows before it is actually finished, a kind of "pre-release" sale.  Then when the CD is done I will ship it to everyone who pre-purchased.  I was wondering if anyone had any creative ideas on how to drive these pre-release sales of my CD at concerts.

Two thoughts I had are:
1) Every pre-release sale gives you an entry to win an iPod nano (and of course the CD when it ships).

2) If you purchase the pre-released CD then you will also get one song already pressed to CD the night of the show (and of course the CD when it ships).

Does the nation have any other ideas on how to drive pre-release CD sales the night of a concert?

Thanks nation!

Hi Nube:

Assuming you`ve found out where you can set up the night of
the show. I would suggest that you position yourself, as Connie
mentioned, near high traffic areas and then give them
something that`s interesting.

Barring a finished product - I`m assuming it`s music of some
kind - How about video and/or audio samples that the crowd
can see and hear - right at the table. Try to involve as many of
the senses at possible.

Let us know, what you decide - Good Luck!
