Hi everyone -

I found an online store website that is currently for sale.  I was planning to open up online store from scratch this summer.  But now that I found this store and their products are very similar to what I am planning to stock in my store, it makes more sense to purchase the existing store which is already set up and functional.  They have pretty good existing customer base as well.  The price they offered was decent.  The problem is, The owner of the website is in U.K as well as the website host.   Although it can display item prices in US dollars, but the site is only set up for U.K retail tax.  Is there anyway to tweak that? Also, would this be a difficult transition, being they are based in a different country? What do I look for as far as fraud and scam.  Please help, I'm new to this.

Thank you very much!

Hi. I think it is not so easy. As you are talking about an online store from UK, Probably most pf his customers are from UK. If you want to buy this business, you may need to have your warehouse removed to UK and become a local business. Or you can have two warehouses. One in UK, one in the States.

Hi, I think it all depends on what kind of products you'll be offering. If you wish to sell or promote software, e-books, etc. then it doesn't really matter where the domain is hosted as there will be no shipment involved. Otherwise I agree with Sabrina Gage.

First of all congrats for your new venture and the Most obviously thing is that you save time and of course your energy too. There will always be more risk and uncertainty with any new business and consider start-up businesses higher risk than existing ones.
