Have A Great Adventure!!
I used to sell businesses before I started my own company. I worked with a lot of SBA Lenders. Every lender massages the numbers differently and have different bank criteria. There is a woman I work with who funds a LOT of deals nationwide. I`m quite positive if your friends have decent credit, and the business cash flows well, there shouldn`t be a problem in getting funding for your friend`s new business.
Send me an email (email@example.com) and I`ll give you her contact info. Now, I specialize in starting businesses all over the United States. I prepare business plans, form LLC`s and INC`s, create some websites and also do SBA Loan Packaging. You can visit my website for more info/rates at www.ezbizplans.com.
Prosper is nice for peer to peer lending but they limit the max amount you can get, I think it's $25k? Very easy to get money though and the rates are good, sometimes better than a bank. Lending Club is another one of these sites.
