I recently launched the beta version of my site for my company, www.freshlybranded.com. I am interested in how others here have driven traffic other than paid search. I am focusing on small businesses but any ideas that have worked I would be happy to hear.

Some of the other techniques used are participating in forums related to your business topic, press releases, writing and distributing articles, and offline marketing (print ads, etc.)

Best regards,

Basic SEO is must. And backlinks to your site from other sites drive additional traffic.  It seems simple, but ask visitors to bookmark or share your site or save it in their Favorites list. I use a widget called tell-a-friend to do this. Other than this use your creativity, viral campaigns to promote your web site.

I'm in the same situation.  Just launched my company a few months back and I'm working on driving traffic to my site as well.  I've created a Facebook page and been working on making my site seo friendly.  The next item I will focus on is creating a press release.  Does anyone have an idea of how to write one or find examples of them?  Also what are the best PR services to use?

As others have stated - unique content and SEO.

SEO is a must if you want long-term organic traffic.

Nice site by the way.

Similar to ice45x's advice but look to partner with companies that complement your business.  For example, a pure hosting company, business intelligence, or app dev.  These companies typically do not have the expertise that you have but they need it to drive their business.

I have recently seen a large increase in site traffic because I've been contacting the members of my local Chamber of Commerce. I've also scheduled fairly regular Twitter postings, which has also driven a fair number of business owners to my website.

Try to look for partners within your market.  Remember that not everyone is your competition.  Do SEO, engage in social media, create articles, publish them and distribute.  As already mentioned, good, quality content will always help you win.
