I`ve been evaluating these things for work for the last 6 months. Can you believe I got
paid to surf, download, install and experiment? :-)
To provide a good list, I need some more information. What operating system do you use? Do you want to have someone else install it, configure it, train you, and maintain it or do you want to do that yourself? Do you have software talent in-house to build, customize and maintain or will you need to use a service agreement? Do you have other systems and or automations planned that will need to tie into it?
Taking a few stabs in the dark, try some of these. Generally they all rely on a browser
though. Actually that`s an advantage to you in the long run -- you`ll
be better able to run your business remotely. Many of them provide a way for clients to check on their orders/projects/etc. from the web without bothering you. (Of course you might want them to bother you so you can better exceed their expectations.)
Alfresco -- http://www.alfresco.com
OpenBravo -- http://www.openbravo.com
OpenTaps -- http://www.opentaps.org (like openBravo with pretty good CRM)
SeeWhy -- http://www.seewhy.com (my favorite and different from the others, but maybe not right for you.)
good luck
