Before hiring an employee, a good business owner checks a prospective employee’s background.  My question is, when it comes to B2B relationships are you validating the background of that business before you sign the contract?

I have found that as jaded as a prospective employee’s background can be, there are many businesses that have “sorted” backgrounds that would make you avoid them as if it were the black plague.

Doing a background check before the contract to me is reactive.  A salesperson, sales manager and/or company should have thoroughly done their homework and know everything about this company in the first place. That's proactive!  Then they wouldn't have gone down that path and spent the time, energy and dollars before a contract.

My two cents only
