My husband and I own a commercial landscape construction corp.  We slip from our partner January of this year and part of the "break up" was that we were to give him back his name by the end of this year and come up with our own.  We need help.

Our company name is currently Rain and Shady Landscape Corp.  We call ourselves RSL for short and our logo on the trucks are RSL.  Rain and Shady are the names of our previous partners kids (hence the reason he wants the name back).  We never really cared for the name.  So we were thinking of choosing a name that started with RS and keep the L for Landscapes...Like "Reliable Service Landscapes"  or "Rock Solid Landscape"...but now we are just thinking that maybe we want something all together new.

My husband and I used to be Nature's Image before we merged with Rain and Shady.  Nature's Image was a more residential maitnenace name.  We need something strong and commercial.

Any ideas?

Theresa

Grass Masters was the first thing to come to mind. Lawn Lovers Landscaping? Tree Huggers Lawn Care? A little humor might get you noticed. I know I personally would choose the witty name if all else was equal.

So do you want the name to still use the RSL initials or it can be any name now?

That's a tough one.  I guess it really depends on if you still want to use the initials.  I would suggest a complete re-branding.

Re-branding would give you a fresh start both business-wise and psychologically.

I would avoid keeping the same initials and there will be still too much of a mental tie to the previous business.

Regarding your new name. You have a number of choices. You can focus on something that really points out your USP. Going with something funny really would make it stand out or rhyming. It could also be something completely non-related and you make it stand out that way by building the brand. An example of the latter is Squidoo, where the name doesn't tell you anything but it is intriguing.

If you could say more about your USP and focus we would have more to go on.

If you just want boring old corporate then just call it ABC landscaping. "your perfect outdoor environment is as easy as ABC".

Cheers!

Re-branding will give you a clean break from the previous partners.  It's up to you if you want to start anew or save costs and keep the RSL.    Both RSL options you suggested seem appropriate for home or commercial landscaping.   Good Luck!

Hey, don't know if you came up with a name yet for your business. How about 'Go Green'.
