SuN could let people with similar interests help with funding or provide referrals to others who can help with funding.  People who can fund receive business proposals and can pitch in for the purpose of promoting an industry or supporting new businesses with solid potential.  They may ask for nothing in return, expect the amount repaid in a timely manner, expect interest, or measure progress in milestones and act as an advisor to look over operations and income statements to make sure the business is run well financially.  Bootstrap capital could be from an indiidual or spread out to multiple participants funding a certain percentage or dollar amount to lower the risk of a single funder.  A feedback system can let funders comment on trustworthiness and use of funds. 

God I`d love something like this. The people who are part of the community at SuN seem friendly enough but I sometimes think the `people upstairs` are more interested in charging everyone for something than helping the small business owners.

There was a group of SuN members doing this a year or two ago.  If I remember correctly it was a Yahoo group???

Don`t have the info at hand and haven`t looked it up lately. From what I remember, it seemed to be working well. Do a little searching in Yahoo groups and you may be able to find the group.
