I`m looking to find a book that will help me learn the things I should (and should not) do when starting a new business as far as financial aspects go. How do I keep track of all the money going and hopefully coming, what`s deductible, etc. etc. I do plan on talking to a CPA at some point, but I don`t know if I`ll be able to get all my questions answered without breaking my budget. Would a business financial planning for dummies book work here, or is that a little too basic. I certainly have no financial background and never took a business class.

Maybe set up an appointment with your local SCORE group, particularly for the purpose of getting some advice on what books to read, and what to learn. They`re free, so you wouldn`t break the bank. :-) You`d be talking with actual business people (retired), and they could likely summarize what would help at your phase of entering business.

I found the McGraw-Hill 36-hour Course in Finance for Non-Financial Managers helpful as a primer on such matters.
