You don`t need to feel "hurt" though I understand why you do.  We`re not attacking you, it`s your "packaging".  In the end, it is still your personal knowledge that is of value.  And the point of blogging is to share your value.  There are simply more effective ways to package that knowledge for your readers.  You`re getting on the right track!  :)

Steve,

I know you guys are not attacking me...I`ve been around this group for quite some time and I know the people here are always willing to help. And I do need some specific comments, as I am too involved.
Besides, I am not a technical person, so I am very afraid to change anything on the WP template...but I am already doing my research to change the theme. So many options out there. It is going to be hard to select one.

Thanks again.

Updates...

I changed the template. Would love to hear what you think about this new one. I actually purchased the image on the top (along with 2 more, so I can change it if necessary).

I also deleted all the old posts, considering they did not add anything to the blog.

I am still trying to figure out how to add the "Continue reading this post..." to the end of my copy excerpt...it is driving me crazy, but I will figure it out.

Thank you,

Andre Costa

To  break up a post in wordpress, so some shows in the home page and a "read more" link brings the reader to the full article:

Add <!--more--> code at the place you want the post to break.

Hi Roland.

The <!--more--> is not working the way I want in this theme (it breaks the text where it should be, but then it leaves a very large blank area under the copy, all the way until the bottom of the page, depending on how long it is based on the right sidebar). I tried that.

The code I am using now works for what I want, but I need to add the text that allows the visitor to click and go to the complete article.

Thank you.

Andre

When I use WordPress, it has tool right in the textbox toolbar that allows you to create these "post breaks" or whatever they`re called - with just one click.  I click on the icon, no code writing.

Steve,

That`s exactly what the <!--more--> is. But, as I mentioned above, it is not working the way I would like it to - it creates a large blank area at the end of the text.

I will keep researching. Thanks for the assistance.

So, number 5 ... when I see images within the content, the left margin of the text butts right up against the right side of the image. If you add some padding to the image, it won`t do that.

As for the problems with the more tag ... I hack my Wordpress every time to not do that with the span and that space gap, etc. E-mail me and I can send you a page with the code if you want. You`ll have to know how to use FTP to put it in the right place.

Do you have your site set to display excerpts (summary vs. full text) on the home page?

Here`s a link to some wordpress info about "more" http://codex.wordpress.org/Customizing_the_Read_More
