Just hoping to get some feedback on whether this idea sounds promising???

I'm an avid sports enthusiast from a participation standpoint.  I'm 36yo and still play baseball and volleyball at high levels, and a variety of other sports.  I've found that there really isn't any all encompassing site or network of sites that caters to the adult amateur athlete.  My vision is to create a network of sites that would roll up to a brand (www.adultathlete.com).  So each sport would have it's own "sub-site" (example: baseball.adultathlete.com).

Each site would include a blog, directory of places to play, player pools and forums for discussion.

Monetization ideas revolve around site advertising, premium league/tournament listings, and potentially long term, league/team management sites.

I would look to hire independent contractors to write content for each specific sport, to keep each site fresh, and they would be paid a stipend, as well as incentives around page views that they drive to their respective sites.

Basically, I would want to become the Engadget for adult sports.

Thoughts?

A good mentor or example of this is a trainer called Ryan Lee - he has a blog by the same name. He has made a fortune creating membership sites for sports enthusiasts and trainers. And he has tools programs to help you do it too.

Worth taking a look if not a little salesy.

Best
