Anyone out there interested in a commerical bio-fuels production business?  We are almost finished with a prototype bio-diesel plant and are about to start construction on a 2,000,000 gallon/year production plant and will be marketing the plant design and business model across the country within 6 months.  Once the first plant is online, then we will be working with investors to build similar plants in other areas.

Who`d`ve ever thought that we`d like to pay $2.00-$2.25 for a gallon of diesel fuel?  With diesel running towards the $3.00/gallon mark again, $2.00 from the top looks very good.  That`s what these plants will do for the transportation market and will generate more demand and markets for our ag producers.

I am just putting this out as a gauge to see what interest there is in investing in alternative fuels production, or at the very least, is anyone interested in buying fuel at under-market prices?

Hi Mike--
Welcome to the board.
Biofuels and alternative energy seem to be a real hot sector. So I`m sure there`s interest. But, an investor would probably need more info.
What type of investor are you looking for? For example... what are the minimum investments?
Do you have a business plan? A website? Etc.

Matt, and any curious

Oddly enough, we`re not actively looking for investors at this moment, we`re proving concept and capability and quality.  I am working on completing a business plan for the first production unit and will be developing a plan for the expected expansion to follow.

We have a couple of unique marketing and funding concepts we`re developinng at present that seem to be working quite well for the prototype and first plant.

When we`ve got something tangible to show and sell, then we`ll be ready with the required and desired supporting elements: business plan, prospectus, website, marketing collateral, operational data and a proven working model.

As I mentioned in the first post, I`m floating this out there to gauge interest.  Anyone wanting to get more information about getting involved or who might want to begin exploring putting a plant in a specific location can contact me via this site or my personal email.

Thanks for your feedback, I`m always willing to learn and am also willing to work with others to develop their businesses.

Gotcha.
I`ll reiterate, I think this is a sweet spot in alternative energy.

I keep trying to talk myself into building a little biodiesel plant in my garage.  I love diesels.  Making high quailty biodiesel isn`t a problem.  The problem is selling it.  I did a half assed look at this about a year ago and found that government regulation and taxation was pretty strict.  Not to mention trying to tap into the oil based infrastructure to sell your product.  Not many stations want to deal with biodiesel yet, still seems to have the bad stigma of plugging up fuel filters and stopping trucks in their tracks.

If you can get that plant running and start selling diesel at 2 of 2.5 a gallon you would be in a very sweet spot in the market.  Not to mention you can run counter to oil prices which should give you a ton of free press.

Have you thought about selling directly to big diesel users, UPS, WalMart, and Penske.  WalMart has recently starting "trying" to go green in their stores.  I think they do their trucking so it might be a great place for you to target your sales.

Bobbyhume,

Yes, I have a plan to sell to large consumers.  Walmart does not run its own fleet, it is lease operated with their logos on all the vans.  I know who runs the Walmart fleet and have direct contact into the parent company.

There are many avenues to pursue, just getting the first plant online will generate quite a bit of press.  Anyone that has any ideas for getting ready to do the press release thing (and other media outlets) is welcome to share ideas or contacts or even pitch their services (only those should be sent via email).

I do appreciate everyone`s interest and will be happy to keep interested parties updated, but just not through this forum.  This forum is for educational and supportive purposes, not to solicit or promote a specific business.  We will be setting up a website soon (any offers?).  In the meantime, for non-forum related questions or updates, please communicate via email to: techguild@yahoo.com.  Any posts that may be beneficial to this online community and this project will be most welcome.

AJ,

Look at the time stamps on your post and the one previous.  That should give you a good indicator how interest is on this forum.  But, that is not how it is in the real world.

Your interest is: curiosity or serious?
