For the how-to of selling, Les Dane`s Big League Sales and Closing Techniques (AKA Sure Fire Sales and Closing Techniques) is the best all around sales book I`ve read. It`s out of print now but there are plenty of used copies out there. Compare Big League Sales to a solid High School education - you complete it and you might not be the best but you know what you`re doing and you do a competent job of selling and make sales.

Steve Kaplan`s Bag the Elephant!: How to Win and Keep Big Customers might then be compared to getting a college degree. Upon reading this book, the Sales Dept at Quick One Messenger immediately decided to play a bigger game, to aim higher and go after elephants (the enormous companies).

Highly recommended. Very readable, understandable, and practical. A test of a good business book is whether or not the reader is percolating with ideas for implementing what`s been read BEFORE finishing the book and that certainly happened here. Quick One Messenger made money from this book in a matter of days after the Salespeople started reading it.
