Search is a pretty good web business. Just ask Google.
Movie rentals are pretty profitable. Just ask Netflix.
Payment services work well. Just ask PayPal.

My point is that there`s not really an easy answer to your question. The
best web business you can do is what works for you. What do you want
to do? What are your interests? To find what form of website in which
you transfer those passions to the internet, you`ll have to ask yourself a
lot of questions. Why are you ruling out a store? Though not a complete
business model, why rule out a blog?

mande,

I believe you need to elaborate your question a little better.
If you`ve been around SuN for a while you will know that everybody here is willing to help, but you must help us first by being more clear on your needs.

I`m considering starting an electronic greeting card business.  Will someone like to give me some feedback on this.

What`s your opinion about this type of online business?

Yes, I will charge for my e-cards, however, they will be distinctively different from e-cards offered on other sites.  Thanks.

We have a couple of folks (from a ways back) doing e-cards. I remember one site was really something, very artistic.

It`s a good business, but there`s a lot of competition. So your first major issue will be differentiation. How will you stand out from the crowd.
