Who do you all use for shipping peanuts and bubble wrap? I know Uline has good deals but the delivery charges are really high. Maybe that offsets the cost?

Also, if you don`t use peanuts - what do you use? Tissue? Newspaper? Air packs?

Thanks!

Though more expensive, use biodegradable peanuts. Customers hate the styrofoam type since it is static-y and not earth-friendly. This is especially true with any health-conscious or environmentally-conscious customers that may be more attracted to your business if you take this extra step.

FYI Mailboxes etc accepts used peanuts and other packing materials if you get any of your supplies with packing materials you wont reuse...

I do use the biodegradable peanuts, unless I`m recycling some that I received from a supplier. The only thing is, though, is I have an allergy to certain grains and the peanuts can be made from just about anything from rice, to corn, to wheat. I have to be careful handling them.

You probably won’t believe it, but I try to recycle everything I can. Not only does it cut down on trash, but it can also help your businesses bottom line.

I get stacks of junk mail on a daily basis under my name and my business name. If you have filed for your business license you will know exactly what I mean. I bought a shredder and shred it all. I often use the shreddings for smaller items I ship. (Paper weight can become heavy, so it’s ineffective on large boxes.) I even crumple balls of old news papers into my packaging.

I also do a fair amount of shopping online, thus receiving packaging parts in those boxes. I reuse them. Peanuts, air bags (my favorite for packing but not storing) and Styrofoam (hate it but re-use it anyway).

If all else fails, I use large bubble wrap. I hate to use plastic, but it is cost effective and provides the protection I am looking for.

Thanks Vincent. The shredder idea is great. I have a shredder somewhere. I need to find it! Thank you.
