All, following the original critique request I submitted 2 months ago, updates to the site have been made following much of the advice of the folks that were kind enough to respond.  I specifically tried to address the copy:  feature based instead of benefit, the color scheme of the site, ease of navigation, and clearer calls to action.  Would you please provide somee feedback on where I may have succeeded and also where I may have fallen short?  We are in the process of adding more photo's and testimonials to the site.  How do you feel about adding some articles or even perhaps a blog or newsletter?  I truly appreciate any feedback you may have......

Hi,

I didn't see the original critique request, but I'll give you pointers on this one.

Your homepage makes me feel like I landed on one of the product pages. The homepage needs to be different from the inner pages. I know I'm not your target audience, but I had no clue what your product was used for until I started reading the text (most people will make a decision in second of staying on the site or leaving without reading the details). You write "your boat is your passion" show your audience their passion. Have images that will make them want to explore more. This might be your competitor www.edsonmarine.com, but see how they use images of boating activities to grab attention of their visitors.

Create some kind of an offer, a call to action to get people interested.

A blog would be great for your SEO, but make sure it's on your site. See this Quick Tip: Use a Custom Domain Name for Your Blog

There's more that can be done to organize your site, but this is a good start to improve it.

Thank you for the suggestions!  I definitely like the idea of the photo's and will be pursuing that immediately.  Because our product is very specific and we are marketing within a small niche, potential customers will not find us unless they are looking for a marine radar or satcom mount.  The reason we chose this product and market is it can be successful (we think) through online marketing.  None of our competitiors product can be purchased in a retail store.  Only through a cataolg or online.  Because there are a limited number of mounts out there, we feel it should not be extremeley difficult to get relatively high organic search results, which is beginning to occur through constant tweaking and testing.

I cannot thank you enough for the suggestions and will be implementing all of them as quickly as practical.
