Hey everybody,

I have a couple of websites that I could use some advice and comments on. I thought I could get a few people to take a look and see what they think by joining and using StartupNation. Here they are, just please post a reply on here so I can forward the information to the webmaster and things can get changed. I hope you like them!!

www.tradefloor.bartermore.com
A low fee trade exchange site.

www.mjstreasures.com
An online store showcasing cottage industry products and other various items.

Thanks a million!!

Rion,

I`ll comment on mjstreasures.com

Obviously this is a ZenCart store based upon the default ZenCart template. The title needs to be changed from "Zen Cart!, The Art of E-commerce" to a title appropriate for your site.
The same with all the banners for ZenCart...not needed and of no purpose/benefit for you.

The colors are all over the place...you should have a consistant and compatable color scheme.

Check the images for your products. One is over 110K and another over 80K... both mean those images will take some time to load and be viewed.

There are a number of products with no picture. Pictures help sell... you should have an image for each product.

It looks like you require people to log in before they can shop... it would be better to allow people to browse and shop without loggin in... and require login to purchase items.

There are a lot of links to other pages... like shipping & returns, privacy notice...page 2, 3, 4..etc. The TERMS are important to complete. If you are not going to use page 2, 3, 4 remove those links. If you are going to use them, rename them with a discriptive name.

Also, having horizontal links that duplicate the category links of the left are not needed.

Great points by Roland.

Why have categories with nothing in them?
The color scheme does nothing for the site.

And try reading your opening paragraphs as if you were a first time visitor; would you consider buying form this site? To me, it`s like saying " We don`t have much, and we aren`t of much help, but if nothing else we`ll give you a credit that you can maybe pass along to someone else ".

And the first link .... I get it, but I don`t get it. The concept of trade dollars isn`t, at least to me, really clear as to how they are set up, where they come from. Maybe its too much explanation that confuses me, but it just isn`t really clear the way I read it.

To be honest,

I think both sites need to be overhauled. That being said, I love the idea of a barter site, but it is too confusing for someone to read through. Try grabbing their attention by making it clearly understood how it works.

This is encouraging for me to hear ...um read this. I just hope that my dad can read it and make an educated decision with these websites. I have been telling him the same thing for the last year or so. Thanks for the support. Please stop by and check them out from time to time to see the progress.

Thanks,
Rion
