Sorry about your experience at the gas station, but you have a great article on customer service.
Having managed a pretty good sized account that included providing customer service, I am blown away by how badly some companies treat their customers.
I had a salesman call me (totally unrelated to my account) who got so upset with me that I wouldn`t buy his product that his voice got louder and louder and finally he said "I`m a busy man," to which I replied, "I`m a busy woman," and I hung up on him. I was never so mad in my life. He interrupted my busy day to tell me he was too busy to talk to me since I wasn`t buying his product.
Needless to say, we never spoke again.
I also have a gas station story to tell. In my town there was a gas station that proudly displayed a sign that they pumped gas for women on a certain day of the week. When I pulled in on that certain day, I looked through the window and saw a man immediately duck below the counter leaving only a young girl to mind the store. I knew it was his job to pump the gas so I waited and waited and waited. He never resurfaced again so I proceeded to pump my gas and went in to pay the young girl. The man had no where to go then, so I gave him a tongue lashing and asked for the phone number of the owner of the station. I didn`t follow up with the owner, though I should have.
Again, I never went back to that station again, even if they did have the cheapest gas in town.
Gas station is a common place for all the crimes, cashier might be really tiered looking all those. I personally might have seen 4-5 steeling and many vandalizing so it`s obvious not to see the required customer care at a gas station.
Yeah You know, You should never ever chew
out a waitress for a bad steak! Always give the cook his dues!!!
