I would like your input on www.backyardsimple.com.

 

This is my first attempt at a website - I am not a developer or designer, the site was built on a WordPress template. It is intended to be an online magazine dedicated to ideas for outdoor entertaining. I hope to monetize it in three ways: Adsense, affiliate product commissions and advertising (when traffic is sufficient to attract potential advertisers). My strategy is to have a clean, professional site that is easily and intuitive to navigate, has optimized content to attract visitors / page views and effectively "pre-sells" affiliate items related to outdoor parties. I have attempted SEO and believe I understand the general 'formula', but catch myself trying to optimize for too many or too few keywords.

I would like your input as far as 1) ease of navigation, 2) gaps in my SEO approach 3) general look and feel and 4) recommendations for improvement.
