I am starting an import export service, selling consumer products in the food and snack industry...What are some of the important things required to build a site that can be marketed well?

1)Should there be more emphasis on the products sold, or the services offered.

2)what are some of the key design issues required ,that need attention

The first thing I would do is look at your competitors in this field, and look to take the best aspects from all of them and then try to add additional value on top of that.

In terms of building a site that can be marketed well, I would be looking towards ensuring that you can capitalize on the free traffic offered by search engines. One means of doing this is to create a seperate page for each product that you sell; that way you can focus each page on optimizing your position in the search engines for that product name.

In terms of building a site that can be marketed well, I feel you should always be willing to invest in quality graphic design, copywriting and usability. I feel that helps consumers to trust your message, allowing you to concentrate on conversions with the most efficiency.
