Gaining customers for your business is highly dependent upon your company's cost structure regardless of your product(s) or service(s).
The beauty part of the Internet/Web is that it makes it possible to automate your daily tasks; use your customers and potential customers as part of your labor force; and use labor in any time zone imaginable.
Our company is now significantly automated whereby we have satisfied the criteria previously mentioned above, such that our cost structure is near minimum and will improve even more in the future as 'lean' is not good enough.
So, think more about integrating Web-based software into your daily business activities (tasks) and/or using Web-based services e.g. Software as a Service (SaaS).
