There has been a lively discussion going on regarding the appropriateness of posting articles in the StartupNation forum.
On the one side of the discussion are those who feel that there is great value to be shared by community members in the form of full articles or blogs and that they ought to be allowed.
On the other side of the discussion are those who feel that such content, while valuable, doesn`t fit in the spirit of what a forum ought to be and can be used as a veiled attempt at self-promotion and marketing. As such, it can serve to pollute the forum.
We believe that both are true!
The best solution is to provide a proper place here at StartupNation.com for the terrific article & blog content to reside.
Pre-Introducing ... StartupNation Member Blogs ... Coming Soon!
The forum can continue to be a place to summarize articles and stimulate discussion. A link to the full article for reference can be included in a forum post.
The new member blogs will be the ideal place for people to write and post content that they believe has value for the community and in promoting their own personal brand.
Solomon-like, don`t you think?? Well, maybe not that impressive, but we`re excited about what this upcoming enhancement will mean for all the StartupNation members.
We all will have an opportunity to author our own content and read the content of those members who speak to our areas of interest. And this great stuff will be separated from the forum discussions for optimum usability.
This new member blog feature is in development right now. So please hold on to your articles and blog content for a little while and you`ll be able to populate your personal member blog with great content when we launch. Seriously, we`d like to start the new policy of not allowing articles in the forums immediately.
You`ll see several other new features launched in the coming weeks. So be patient while we go live with this other super-cool stuff. We`ll let you know when the member blog feature is ready.
