Hi all,

Sun has been a little quiet lately. So, I was just wondering, what is everyone doing? Vacationing.., or working hard? Probably many of you are just getting the kids back to school.

Are you working towards Christmas? Products to sell, services to be offered?

I really have to schedule a vacation soon. What about you? What are you doing?

I did a Google search for "vacation." It must be jazz, `cause I surely don`t understand it. There were all sorts of references to free time, seeing something called "the sun," and even more obscure references to something about an "outside?" No clue.

I`ve been working crazy hard lately. On top of my usual workload, I`m partnering with someone to sell shirts of my Obama poster at the Democratic National Convention which happens to be right in my back yard here in Colorado. We`re scrambling to hit the crowds hard with shirts and posters. But there are a lot of hoops to jump through (permits, product logistics, etc.) to make it happen quickly. Denver is supposed to turn into a madhouse of people!

And I`m still drawing houses for a living too. That part is busy enough.

Hi Janie!!

How are you lovely lady??

Me.. i am working my tail off 18 hours a day.. i hate being stuck on this computer all day.. so i am trying to work while on the tradmill a bit. Hall starts school soon. so that will be fun.. school shopping, work, swimming, reg stuff. I have tried to get here more, it is my favorite place to come to.

Yes, bellapria, we should all learn to take vacations more!

Erin, 18 hours a day...that`s crazy! Even with Hall out of school, wow. Does she have a treadmill next to yours? :)

Oh.. Craig you are so funny. And Steve, sounds like you could be a real hit with your t shirts. Good luck!

And me, all I can think about is Christmas. But unfortunately not the holiday. I`m sort of focused on sales. :) And as usual, I`m working. We had a trip planned, but I let my husband go alone. It`s so hard to leave work at times.

Hi Janie and all -

Got back from my annual gold-mining vacation last week, hit the ground running and I`m totally swamped with work. The best thing about the vacation was being totally disconnected for over a week - non phones, Blackberries or Internet.

Lots of socializing this past week as well. We had a major player in my partner`s company over for dinner one night (and he took a copy of my book back to HQ as they are talking about a major identity redesign), attended a sushi cooking class event one evening (and the woman from the establishment said she wanted all the business cards I had on me), went to a benefit dinner for a local theatre company (and ended up talking about the possible redesign of the organization`s identity), and much more.

Getting ready ready for upcoming speaking engagements at the Creative Freelancers Conference in Chicago, Create Chaos 2008 in Orlando and a day-long identity design workshop at the School of Visual Concepts in Seattle.

Somehow finding some time to work in my garden on a regular basis - it`s my best therapy!

Already looking forward to the holidays in Hawaii and the annual St. Croix trip next spring...

Janie,

yes.. Halla is with me a lot.. I am lucky and work by the pool some days, so she can swim.. go to a playpark with wi-fi and share the treadmill, because she loves to walk sideways on it. She also likes painting and art and piano.. so we keep busy while i am connected to work. I will be glad when she starts school because she will have a bit more freedom during the day. She was in day school for years but since I moved, there wasn`t a great place around, so I keep her with me. On appts she stays with her Grandma or Aunts.

Gardening is so fun isn`t it Jeff? It is great therapy. I miss having mine this year.. but friends have been nice enough to share their tomatoes which I love and i get berries from the farm.

I hope you get that shirt Steve!!

I know Nikole is busy being pregnant.

I`ve bothered Craig to help me with some writing and if he can put up with me, hopefully he can help me with more. I promise to get you that stuff Craig.. I swear!!

You should take a vacation Janie.. any good news from your daughter??

I love coming here. You are all so great!!

Fabulous stuff going on for you Jeff! It`s been great watching your success over the years.

Daughter? no not that news yet. :) But she will be here on Monday. I`m so excited. Probably won`t think about work much next week! I am so happy to have a great, wonderful, responsible office manager to carry on!

Vacation... usuallly when it gets cold around here (NorthEast). Although we`ve been talking about getting away soon.

I try to take a day off here and there over the summer.

Have a few large projects one finishing and another starting up.
