Dear CreativeGal:

I do not have what you might consider a standard "theater" or fixed location from which I perform; however, for the short term, I am making plans to become affiliated with one.

Currently, the actually "theater" is a portable stage I bring to the customers desired location.

It`s funny that you have mentioned the theater portion of my show. I have recently come about the information on how to buy/bring a portable "tepee". It`s quite eloquent.

Yes creative gal, I think that us Floridian EEE`s should meet.

From time to time while networking, people ask me, "Is what you you do profitable?"

My reply is usually - creative occupations fulfill a need in the community that not many choose to follow because of the misperceived "non-profitability" they have. I have this very conversation with the "Sloan Brothers" in 1 of my 2 radio interviews. They claim my EEE can only be profitable for myself.

For example, that need in Miami Beach (my home) is in the form of tourists - travel agents say it is so.

I also continue by adding, in working with children you have to put children first, employees second and profitability third.; and that in time, as I gain experience, the order of my prioritizations reflect my passion that my customers  and employees see; which eventually lead to profitability. This long-term view means I love what I do so much, I will never abandon this business.

Hey Seth, I got your email.

In an earlier thread you mention getting some type of insurance to cover "liability". This is certainly food for thought - or in your line of work - insect food for  thought. I think that in your line of "specialized" work with children and insects you most certainly do need to consider liability.

With my line of work, I believe it is less so.

Yet I have considered it.

Here`s a little personal bio. For one year I went through intense schooling to learn about "American Indian Philosophy". At the end of my residency, my teacher (a well respect Lakota elder) declared me "Shaman for Children". But Native Americans don`t give out degrees, they just know it is so. With that being said, there are many legal entities that can give me the title "priest" and therefore supply me with liability protection.

Thanks all,

David the Native American Puppeteer

Seth,

Thank you so much for starting this blog! My goal is to have educational software for children and adults, but I am having problems finding where my target audience. I went to the search engine and the only directory that was available wanted me to pay $100.00US to list on it.

dear linuxuser:

finding your target audience for your endeavor seems like it might be a challenge.

their are 2 sources which might help. joining our local chamber of commerce get`s you established with a large amount of reputable business. my chamber (to which ive recently joined) has listings i find useful. in addition, they sponsoer the "education council meeting" which brings in business and local schools together.

the other suggestion is contacting your dept of education and finding out if when they have meetings and what type of software they use.

I have found that certain highg schools hold classes for adults too.

I hope this finds you well
