I don’t think by just working online it can earn lots of money and get rich. One thing you must possess before you pursue in looking for jobs online is to have the skills and expertise on something like being a programmer, web developer or a web designer. You can do also work like data entry and other administrative tasks. However, most of them are scam.
There are a number of ways to make money online, it's just a matter of knowing where to find them. Keep in mind that get rich quick schemes that seem too good to be true usually are. Here are some of the best ones I've found:
eBay - Sell your extra stuff. Usually you can find someone who will want it.
Freelance article writer - It doesn't pay very well, but there are a large number of outlets screaming for content.
Stock photos - Many sites will allow you to sell stock photos either by taking photographs or rendering images.
Amazon's Mechanical Turk - Simple tasks that pay pennies can add up to a bit of extra cash for little effort.

Next, as many have posted: Don't pay to work!
Then... Not only work hard, but work smart. Don't over do it. Promote a business or so, but not a truckload. You want to make money, not kill yourself in the process. Overdoing it only gives you ulcers--and less money.
