I`m so tired of serious (boring) websites. Are there any examples of funny, or at least fun, websites where the primary purpose is to sell products? I`m looking for some ideas.

Can`t say that it`s a rolling laugh riot, but I think Moosejaw mixes humor and sales nicely. Very laid-back and casual humor, without being snide and snarky (you know, kind of like us....)

Apparently, their e-mail is really a hoot.

Even a page full of bad puns would be more fun than most pages I`ve seen.

A page full of bad puns...
In that case, I can write copy for you.

www.despair.com.  Their products are funny and so is their correspondance with you.

Pun`s are the best.  I`ve actually thought about using humour as a marketing tool for my website.  I would like to create a animated add that would play on all of the stereotypes of other countries or cultures to attract people to my language website.

Example:  Stereotypical French Guy with striped shirt, berret, baguette of bread, and a bottle of wine speaking English in a very strong French Accent saying ridiculous things.

Kind of like those great policital cartoon segments about Bush and Kerry that exploded on the web during the elections.

Obviously I wouldn`t want to offend anyone that would be interested in my product but I think that humor can be a very contagious marketing tool.

Look at all the great Beer commercials  ( Man Law! ) come on.

Kim, You have a wonderfully warped sense of humor. And I mean that in the nicest way.

Aaron, that sounds great. I`d love to see some examples.

I`m thinking of an animated cookie that has, shall we say a slightly confused, cookie-centric view of the world and of history.

For instance, did you know that the first draft of Patrick Henry`s famous speech actually said "give me cookies or give me death"? It`s true.

Also, at the Boston Tea Party, they threw the tea overboard because there were no cookies.

My all time favorite time-waster of a web site would qualify:

Homestar Runner

Enjoy!
