Hi,

I am a recent high school graduate, and I will begin my studies at university this fall. I have a couple great ideas that I need help with.

I have used my summer to make a cheap prototype for my invention, but it is not professional. However, it does work and provide the idea of how my idea will work.

I don't think I can afford the cost of patenting because my research shows costs larger than $1000. I need to pay for my education first.

Not only am I not able to afford to patent it, I have no idea where to go from here. I am trying to contact an Angel Investor here in the Lower Mainland but he has not replied.

I am looking for some advice as well as answers to these questions:

1) How does the process work with an angel investor of getting my product out there?

2) Does sending myself a sealed letter of the invention's details somewhat help protect me?

I know this might not be the correct forum for all  of this, but I am desperate for help right now.

Thanks,

Harvy
