Hi everyone, just wanted to chime into the thread. 

I love Facebook for staying connected with friends and family.  I also share inspirational quotes and words of wisdom to make people happy.  I've gotten quite a bit of responses from friends and family who really love the inspirational photos and quotes --they acknowledge that it helps them get through the day.  So it's a way for me to spread my source of inspiration to others and keep them motivated each day. 

In terms of business, I have yet to really see results from setting up a Facebook Fan page but I know others who claim it has been really invaluable for the business.  I think it's key that no matter what social media site you use you stick with one your most comfortable with and use that primarily to help you get more exposure for you business.  If you use several you tend to spread yourself too thin and the results don't go so fast.

I am on facebook. I found that it can help me find and get updated with the people I know  as well as give me another avenue to share any business related posts I want people to know. In some areas, it can be a good way to make your business known.
