Just curious, how many of ya all are using facebook. At the urging of a friend, a couple of weeks ago, I finally set myself up. Now, I`m having a blast, have found some old friends, connecting with others I went to school with, really enjoying it. This week, I even decided to set up a group for my business!

I`d like to invite anyone here on the forums to join our group, we are going to see how many we can get. Just browse our group using "Pam`s Pantry Dip Lovers" and click join. If you join, please invite all your friends to join, the more the merrier!

If you are using FACEBOOK, and want friends or followers, please post your info here for other to link up to you!

Yes I`m on FaceBook too. I have found other soapmakers and have become good friends with them. Even picked up some sales for my business and countless tips.

I`m on it, but seldom use it .... I guess I`m not into the social stuff like many other people.

I`m not on Facebook or Myspace. I heard that it can be a detriment to future employment. If my cafe succeeds, I`ll certainly use Facebook and Linked In to network. It can only help, right? Until I`m assured self employment, I`m not giving myself any handicaps for future job hunts. Employers are more and more frequently searching these networking sites for information on job applicants, and you can never tell how they`ll interpret any information you display. Networking sites, credit scores - the job hunt isn`t what it used to be. Employers really go above and beyond the job application these days.

Yes you have to be selective about what information you display. I have found that social networking whether in an online environment or in off line settings helps me connect with people and has definitely helped me in my search for customers.  I have also helped others with sales leads and markets that I couldn`t use. Or with people they need to know.
Social networking may not be for everyone. I thought it wasn`t for me because I`m basically not a people person. If I don`t know someone I have a hard time finding a common ground to communicate on but the more I network the more at ease I am. I am actually meeting people who know people that I know.  I meet the soapmaker, who knows the packaging person I know, who knows the graphic artist who knows the person who sells me my fragrances and so on. You just have to start doing it. And believe it or not...you are already social networking by leaving messages on this forum.

Hello all!  In St. Croix for my annual two-week get away. Checking things online about every two or three days as the phone lines are out at the beach house.

I have both a personal Facebook page and a Facebook fan page for Jeff Fisher LogoMotives.

I`m on Facebook now. It might be fun. Who knows. Just look for Matt Turpin of Plainfield, CT. Can`t miss me. I use the same sepia tone photo.
