I think it`s the ideas that are born. It simply depends on how fertile the mind is that receives it.

I`ve met serial entrepreneurs and least likely to succeed entrepreneurs. The common factor for those who succeed was how much they BELIEVED in the dream. Good dreams simply can not die - they grow as long as you give them attention.

So, I guess the ideas are born and the entrepreneur is made.

Well put, Unlimited.

The philosophy of idealism proposes that ideas are separate and existential in their own right. They reside "somewhere" in a non-physical place. The mind, then, reaches through to this other place and "sees" ideas.

If that`s true, then entrepreneurs have the skill or the brain construction to see into this other area----the realm of ideas. To that end, I think we could ask the same question about psychic ability: Is it a skill or intrinsic quality.

Or you can argue that every human being has the ability to connect with and access the abundance of ideas in `Infinite Intelligence` - and that those who act on them and turn them into some form of business enterprise may be entrepreneurs...

Yes, that`s part of the argument. It`s only shifting it slightly. "Do entrepreneurs develop an existing skill, or must they be born with that skill." It`s the same thing, but I think shifts the perspective around.

If we say that Ideas exist on their own, somewhere, then accessing those ideas is a decision to build up a skill----exercise a muscle, like the imagination. And we`re all born with an imagination.

The point, I think, is to examine the concept of business and being an entrepreneur as something anyone might be able to do, how they would go about it, and what specific area of their personality would be involved.

Personally for me, I was born a dancer.  I know this in my heart and soul - so becoming a business owner was more a means to an end for me.

My brother, however, was born an artist along with the strong desire to build his own business and the personality type to do so.  So I think for most, the desire to work for oneself and create your own destiny is a personality trait that you are born with.  But circumstances support some people`s dreams and environments always, always influence - so with anything else, I believe it is a combination of drive, spirit, talent, and environment.
