I work for an advertising and market research company and we are a small business that has been around for over 50 years. We are, however, very outdated. We are running an operating system from 2002, and programs have not been updated in a while. We aren't extremely knowledgeable on the more advanced topics with computers, but have enough to keep the business going. We are looking into making a few changes to bring us more up to date. We were considering switching from Windows XP to Windows 7. Has anyone done this switch/does anyone strongly recommend using Windows 7 for out business.
Also, we have just been doing external hard drive backups, but feel like it would be easier/more beneficial to start using online cloud backup as our backup solution. Does anyone know of any relatively cheap companies that could be used/ would anyone suggest not using online backup for the company?
Lastly, we re running on a peer-to-peer network at the moment, with around 15 employees working on their own station. The idea of aquiring a server came up, but we are not very knowledgeable on how that would affect our company. Does anyone else run their business with a server/what would it do for my company/do you recommed doing it?
If anyone could give their input on any of the above topics I would really appreciate it!
Thank you very much!
