Hi Bevla,

There are services where you can "pay for placement." Conduct some research online and try to find a publicist who will work with your specific needs and budget. You don`t need to pay high prices to get coverage - but it does take effort.

Jeff has the right idea -- it is probably easier (and it looks more sincere) to be considered the "expert" that is featured in an article than it is for you to write an article that promotes your own product.

If you live in an urban area, check to see if there is a mediabistro (www.mediabistro.com) near you -- great networking there. I have been on TV a couple of times because of connections I made there.

Thanks All!

I`ve been subscribing to Bill`s newsletter for a few years now, it`s really helpful.  I just wasn`t sure if snail mail or email was the effective way to send media kits these days.

Have a nice night!

Hi-

Great replies and solid advice. I`ve been pretty successful in getting on the news this year (will even be on CNN International next week). It definitely pays to do your homework before contacting a reporter/journalist/editor with a pitch.

Good luck.
