Guys,
Any Seth Godin admirer here?? I have written a slightly tongue in cheek post on my blog about his latest concept of `purple cow`. Look forward to your opinions on what you think.

This isn`t the answer you`re looking for but no I have not read it.

In fact, I haven`t yet read any of his books.  (I occasionally read his blog though.)  I`ve browsed his library of books but I don`t know which one to read or start with.  I believe I`m fairly well-versed in marketing theories/trends but of course I could always learn much more!  Sometimes I read marketing books and they all seem to say the same things in different ways, and stuff I already know.

Which of Seth Godin`s books do you think is unique?  Do you have a recommendation?

I find Seth Godin to be very entertaining and informative.  I always like someone who talks about boring business concepts in interesting ways.  I loved the whole analogy of Purple Cows.  It was a great read.

I appreiate wht Seth Godin says but  seriously believe he is overpaid for what he knows. I wont mind guys like Philip Kotler being paid million bucks for a day`s consultancy, but Seth`s fee is obtuse. May be that suggests that he has marketed himself well and his theories work( at least for him)

Purple Cow is not a bad book, but still over hyped. I am more of a Tom Peters and Scott Adams fan.(Kotler`s bored me to death in Uni, still carry a stigma, which I hope would go soon)

I`m a big fan of Godin`s. I don`t know what his consulting fees are, but I have read all of his books and I read his blog. I find his perspectives to be fresh and intelligent, yet they are presented in a way that is easy to understand and digest.

Today, something he wrote 3 years ago may appear to be `obvious`...probably because the blogosphere and every `Make Money Online` guru touts the same information; but whenever a new release of his comes to the surface I find at least one `ah ha` in there that I didn`t know or think about before.
