I have an appliance repair business and I think my site looks great! The main problem I have is that I don't think the site is converting as well as it should. I use adwords and I get up to 10 clicks a day but only 1-2 calls, sometimes no calls. Not sure if it's the copy on the site, the navigation, the site, the seo or what?

I run monthly specials of $25 off repair & my rates are competitive. My potential customers may not know about my rates because they are not calling. Could it be my field is oversaturated? How can I compete with Service Magic?

Accepting all critiques, criticisms and helpful suggestions.

Thanks,

Jay

Hello Jay

I just took a glance at your website and it looks really professional but that doesn't mean you are going to get traffic. I have few suggestions which might work for you.

1. Think like a consumer and see what they might looking at websites like you. For example, my refrigerator went down last weekend and I was looking to troubleshoot by searchign google for tips. Why I am saying that, you better start adding repair tips and video's. People nowadays want to try out themselves first before they call. If you can provide tips and offer them something. They might visit often your website and even call you when they couln't able to fix it.

2. I don't see lot of keywords in your webpages. You need to first add keywords which are specific to your area and try to target it. Your keywords are so generic.

3. Don't waste too much money in adwords. They don't work very well except eat up your revenue. Just don't spend a lot, it is good to start some traffic and SEO purpose but not going forward.

4. Finally, try to add your company info in social media websites like yelp.com and so forth which has more visitiblity.

Hope these tips help.

You are correct to be concerned with your conversion rate and not so much with traffic.  All the traffic in the world doesn't mean anything unless people are making contact with you once they arrive at your website.

From a quick glance I can say that there are some basic navigation issues on your site that may be turning people away.  If your site is not easy to navigate people get confused and move on.  For example, on your site you have 3 areas of navigation from the home page; There is a top navigation bar, a left side navigation bar which has links to specific appliances you work on and a bottom navigation bar with the same sort of list with visual cues.  When I click on "shop by brand" a new window opens.  I expected to be directed to another page on the site rather than to have another page opened.

If you're interested in a more thorough assessment feel free to contact me.

Good luck and much success with your business growth!

Angela
