Enh..I do actually get the concept of blogging. It used to be something
else, and in a typical publishing venue, it`d be an editorial or
opinion column. "Blogging" is just the Hot New Word. LOL! AND they sell
it for free!
I have one or two blogs bookmarked, not that I follow them regularly. I
don`t need an RSS feed because nothing is that important that I have to
instantly know about it. Drudge started with a blog, I think?
But as with so much of today`s "innernet stuff," a new word comes
around, and everybody`s gotta jump on it. Does it really matter? No. If
someone writes well, and I`m interested, I`ll read it. I don`t care if
it`s an article or a blog entry.
On the other hand, for the purposes of storage and long-term access, I
think it makes sense to name a file an "article file," versus "blog
content page." Or, people could store articles in an articles database,
and leave blog entries in CMS applications. The problem would be link
maintenance.
