Is it "legal" and if so, "is there a market" to set up and manage "Constant Contact" accounts for other businesses for a fee? I use this service for my `monthly articles` and cannot believe how successful that campaign has been.

Any comments? I really need to come up with a variety of "income generating" activities, and if this sounds like a good one (or a bad one), I would really like some feedback. Thanks, as always..

Constant Contact is an awesome program and not all small business are aware of it, or want to make the time to create the message. You could consider creating your own e-marketing program. I have always been aware of the fact you are giving a third party (Constant Contact) all your emails. They are a very reputable company, but privacy is such a concern for some.

Good Luck!

I know there are virtual assistant businesses (VAs) that do this as marketing assistance.

It`s a geat tool. I would  just make sure your clients know that you are using the program and distributing their emails.

Good Luck!

Thanks all. This advice has been very encouraging and helpful. I hadn`t even thought about the fact that when we use these types of services, we are just "giving away" wonderful email contacts to the 3rd party. You are right though; they seem quite reputable, and also, they "say" they do not use our emails for anything.

I just need to find out "how" to get going with it. I think, out of all the ideas I`ve had, this one should be the easiest to, at least, get started.

Thanks!

I`m not so sure about the idea...do you have any evidence of a need for this type of service? I personally don`t have a strong need to get my cell phone or laptop professionally cleaned, as just using a damp paper towel will give me satisfactory results (and I have OCD). Has anyone else expressed interest in this type of service?

Are there any other goods that you could possibly clean that might be useful for those who frequent airports, etc?

Just a thought, there is a high demand and extremely low supply of outlets in airports...maybe you can use your kiosk, which would have plenty of free outlets to rent out usage per hour?

My wife gets her jewelry cleaned for free at the jewelers shop when she is in the mall. they do it for free so the customer spends some time looking at the stuff. Over the years I have come to start breathing different when she announces she needs her jewelry cleaned.
a twist, sell the garb that goes with laptops, and cell phones, skins, software, games, cd`s, ring tones, holders, maybe some type of cloth you keep in the bag, and give away the cleaning.
even if you sold cd`s and other trinkets the folks need something to do while you do the job.
free service gets them in the door, they voluntarily agree to stand around for several minutes, and look at lots of shiny low cost (impulse buys) things for sale. then even the guy that does it himself might be inclined to have you do it while they have an hour before the flight and the bar is all the way at the end of the concourse, he he.
just a thought

but will someone drag their equipment all the way to you so you can spray dust blaster on it and polish it up? i am over simplifying  i know, just trying to get my point across.  i think such services are offered for free as a value add to the customer`s experience.  but maybe there is that one special product that is overlooked by everyone that requires special cleaning/polishing every now and then? i dont know.

the idea is not defensible at all in my opinion

Oy, this one I think you should let sink beneath the waves. One of the things I learned, back when I`d thought of doing computer repair work, is that most people consider computers to be magic. They have NO idea how a PC works, simply assuming on faith that it does work.

As such, when a computer works, great. But when it "stops," they don`t understand why it stopped. They look to the "last person who touched the computer," and assume that magically, that "caused" the system to crash.

Can you imagine what would happen if your polishing lady cleaned up a laptop, the owner boards the plane and opens it and it......stopped? Yikes!!
