I`m pretty new to Startup Nation but I`ve already been visiting regularly. I
am an artist and designer who works for myself. I`ve noticed plenty of
designers on here, from graphic to web design, who like me are self-
employed. I think that`s great!

I dig the new Marketplace though I haven`t really had a chance to explore
it much. However, I feel like there is a lack of a category for designers.
Hell, chemicals is its own category. Do we know how many chemists vs.
web designers on SuN? Who do you come across more often? (No
offense to the hard-working chemists.)

Lots of startups need design work from logos to promotional materials
and especially websites! I listed myself under the Marketing, Sales and PR
category because marketing comes closest to design. But I really don`t
belong there. It also seems to be the largest category behind Retail and
Services. Taking designers out of it might make that category more
manageable as well. If you needed a web designer and wanted to find
one on SuN, it would be pretty easy in the forums, I think. But now there
is the Marketplace. And where do you look?

Does anyone else agree that design needs its own category?

I agree with ya Steve. Keep those suggestions and ideas coming - the SuN bosses listen to the troops.
