Hi Julie, I remember when this site came up for review awhile back.
Looking at this iteration, I see it as an informational not a sales
site. I see no "Products," "Browse our Store," and that sort of thing.
There`s a lot of text, all of which certainly focuses my attention on
menopause troubles, but that`s about all I see.
When I say "see," I`m "glancing" at the site. That`s, after all, what
most online cruisers do. You`ll get about 4-5 seconds of a quick glance
before someone decides if it`s interesting or click away.
If I were doing a research paper on menopause, this would attract my
interest. But if I were feeling hot flashes and wanted a "Fix These!"
site, I would probably click away.
Your left side, typically devoted to site navigation, is instead
devoted to find more, discover more, know more, and so forth. The top
tabs are blue on light blue, almost invisible, with "Products" being
lost entirely.
So to answer your main question; no, I don`t see this site as selling
much to the target market. That target market seems to be researchers
interested in the general condition of menopause.
Thanks Craig for your response. In actuality, what you`ve described is what I intended, at least for the beginning of the launch. There is still very little real information about menopause, and women (and men) continue to be uneducated on this life change. Even doctors are known to be totally misleading and uneducated on menopause today. My goal is to educate women and through this education they will hopefully be drawn to the remedies that are listed here, knowing that there are indeed ways to help them through this...instead of just `dealing` with it. I`ve been very careful about linking each `symptom` or problem to a `cure` or products that may be helpful in touching on that subject. We`ll see what happens... I know women spend more time thinking about things before buying them and there are several repeat customers...though no sales. We`ll see what happens over the next couple of months and perhaps I will need to address it more closely then. Thanks again!
