Haha.... I thought I'm the only one that noticed this.
I stopped advertising, so there are weeks when my ad isn't running. Then I'll restart it again, and my CTR will be high again.
But still, I sometimes feel that the clicks generated were false. I don't mean fraudelent but accidental from people not really interested in my product. My hunch is all those Adsense publishers have embedded Google ads on their sites so well, that it generates accidental clicking from their visitors.
Anyways, I think people that find my site through community forums are my best source of new customers. Not Google Ads, though they bring some too.
I have doe all of the above - And in the beginning the ads seem to have great CTR... but over time the cost creeps up and the CTR drops?... I feel that Googles little black box is just designed to extract as much cash from me as possible...
