I have no idea how they got the business phone number, but I have found it quite amusing to receive the same kind of call, several times a day, from different companies saying the same thing, "you have been approved to start accepting V/MC/DC, etc. now.  Please call (the phone #) and speak with an account rep."  Mind you, I have not even gotten around to setting up the business checking account yet (which is planned for early next week) or begun to sort through merchant account research yet (this will occur over the weekend).

The only thing I can think of that`s causing the phone calls is the formation of the company`s business structure.  That`s it. 

What do you guys think this is happening?  Any suggestions on stopping the calls?

When you file your LLC or Inc with your Sate, your info is in the public domain. I don`t know the actual mechanics of how this happens, but rest assured, there is an army out there farming this info and selling it.

The calls will tapper off in a few months...

I still get an automated call about once a month asking me to use thier system... It`s AUTOMATED. I can`t get them to stop calling. Do you think I want to do business with them?

Is your phone on the do-not-call list?

Being on the DNC list doesn`t matter if your HOME PHONE and your BUSINESS PHONE are the same number.  I was yelled at by a telemarketer who said that she didn`t HAVE to pay attention to the DNC list because she was calling a BUSINESS number.  I told her that this was also my HOME number which was on the DNC list and that this was NOT a business number even though she got it from a business number list. 

But, when I registered for my business license, I didn`t HAVE a business number - lesson learned...

It truly is hysterical.  Makes you feel a little important, though quite distracting 

My business number is completely different than the home phone and my fax line is a different is different as well.  I`m sure you all are right about the calls dwindling soon.  Hopefully, that`ll make room for the real calls to come in.

By the way, I received word that my official articles of incorporation will be arriving tomorrow.  I can`t wait to see them  Getting these will really make the "we`re in business" truly official!
