I agree with you Bytrade, any affiliate marketing tips today has to start with the most detailed information like affiliate programs to join and the type of products to choose for marketing and also about the methods used for marketing them to customers. It is never easier to just join a program and instantly start making money.

Just  believe in what you are doing and if it's right then do not worry about anything else do your stuff and reap the benefits.

Keyword stuffing anyone?  Just about every sentence of the original post contains either "affiliate marketing"  or "affiliate marketer" or both. I hate to be a stick in the mud but if you're going to share something on a forum, it should be written with the audience in mind and not the search engines.  See Google's April 24 blog post: Another step to reward high-quality sites.  "We see all sorts of webspam techniques every day, from keyword stuffing to link schemes that attempt to propel sites higher in rankings."  

That said, I participate in a couple affiliate programs but I have most success with amazon.  I think that part of the success has to do with three basic points:  know what you are promoting, know who you are trying to reach and add value when creating content.
