desertdream, Try getting in touch with www.score.org a branch of the Small Business Administration. If they don`t have a chapter near you, you can get online advice. Email or face-to-face, it`s all FREE. The chapter here was wonderful when I was getting ready to launch my business. Since they try to hook you up with mentors experienced in the same field you`re pursuing, you may find you don`t need that Advisory Board. They`ll find you someone with hospitality experience, retail, food and beverage, etc. As many as you need, as often as you want. Did I mention it`s free? Attractive price for a start-up.
I need to form an Advisory Board as well. I am currently working with a wonderful mentor from SCORE but I still need to have a board to "support" my business plan . I have been thinking that perhaps I should complete the Executive Summary so I can show that to the people who I would like to ask//invite/beg to be on the board.
I believe most people would feel honored to be on the board without seeking compensation; however, I do like the idea for inviting them to the resort in the future!
Don`t know if I`m promoting myself too shamelessly here, but...
